St Mabyn Parish Council

The Lawn Cemetery was opened in 1992 to provide burial space for St Mabyn residents and is operated by the Parish Council. There are 252 grave sites.

The cemetery is designed as a final resting place for people who have a local connection to St Mabyn. The Parish Council may ask how long you, your family or the deceased person have lived in the parish or what other connections they had. This may mean that they were born here, worked here or had other close relatives living or buried in the Parish. Your funeral director can advise you on how we decide. Any decision that the Parish Council makes about local connections is final.

When visiting the cemetery please respect other visitors and keep noise to a minimum. Dogs are permitted in the cemetery but strictly kept on a lead.

Cemetery opening hours

The cemetery is open during daylight hours throughout the week. There is no need to give notice if you wish to visit.

Getting to the cemetery

The cemetery can be accessed through the churchyard in Station Road, St Mabyn. The gate is located to the left hand side of the War Memorial. Please note that there is limited parking available in the small car park opposite St Mabyn Inn or, alternatively, there is parking in the Parish Council car park which can be found at the rear of the Community Shop in Wadebridge Road. Access to the cemetery may be restricted during funerals.

We regret that there are no toilets near the cemetery. There is a water tap beside the gate to the churchyard and also a bin for depositing any waste.

Fees & Charges

The Parish Council is required to publish a list of its current fees and charges which can be downloaded from the Documents section on this page. Your funeral director or stonemason will usually manage the payments: ask them for advice.
